Codex's `/goal` Is Underrated
I think Codex’s /goal is underrated. Easy one-task ralph loops for everyone.
You give Codex a goal, and it keeps going until it thinks the job is done or the budget runs out. That sounds like a small UX feature, but I don’t think it is.
Some of us have been writing our own "ralph loops" for a year now. I run them most nights before bed, but it takes a fair amount of thinking / expertise / effort to get something going. It's not always worth making a new continuation prompt, and a new cron job to pipe it into Codex every 30 minutes, then cleaning up the crontab when I wake up.
It's 5-10 minutes/day of work that are almost totally erased for me thanks to /goal. Kudos to the team at OpenAI!
