Bill Donohue of the Catholic League has issued a statement demanding that all Christians boycott The Golden Compass (site, imdb), a new film based on the first book in Philip Pullman's trilogy, His Dark Materials. I find it particularly telling that Mr. Donohue feels so threatened by a work of the fantasy fiction genre. Competitive much?
